Sheepoll’s Opinion Trivia is kinda like pub trivia, but there are no right or wrong answers.
Instead of finding the smartest person in the room, we discover the most average and the most unique, asking questions you'll never find at a normal trivia night.
What's the ugliest letter? Would you rather 10 arms or 10 teeth? Would you kill your best friend to save your own life?
Dubbed an 'improv comedy gameshow', everyone is a contestant and the entertainment comes from the host and the audience exploring the ridiculous ideas sprouted from the questions.
Punters play along using the Sheepoll app, and through a slew of segments, and a bunch of instant prize games, we calculate the most average person, The White Sheep, and the most unique, The Black Sheep. Those two players win the night, with cash, bar vouchers, and tattoos up for grabs!
Download the Sheepoll app on the App Store or Google Play and get to a participating venue for the pub trivia experience that doesn’t leave ewe feeling stupid.
Your crew turns up to an Opinion Trivia show. They download the Sheepoll app (if they haven't already), create a Baabaatar - their online sheep avatar - and sign into the unique game made for that venue. The host puts on a show and uses the app to ask polls, run games, display results and award prizes. People laugh, drink, mingle and have a good time. No one feels dumb 'cause there are no right or wrong answers!
Sick of Steve's team always winning your work's Christmas Party trivia night? Want your school's parents to interact and get to know each other better? Opinion Trivia is a hilarious way to break down the barriers and get everyone involved. Plus, you can customise questions to make it a personalised experience.
Let’s get something straight. Sheepoll's Opinion Trivia is a weekly 2-hour question-based entertainment show for pubs and bars, but it certainly ain't a traditional pub quiz! Nobody leaves feeling stupid and anybody can walk away a winner.
You don't find one or two members of a team dominating the question-answering, because everyone contributes. In fact, you don’t even have teams! The gameplay revolves around banter and debate, and even though individuals submit their own responses, you find there is more cross-table conversation and social interaction than a standard trivia show.
Over two rounds, the gameplay is comprised of 17 different segments made up of around 30 polls and 4 prize games. Each segment boasts it’s own quirky sheep-themed cartoon and jingle, as well as its own polls and rules. Unlike trivia, our polls are designed to divide crowds and spark friendly debate. Like: 'Would you rather only age from the shoulders up or nipples down?' or 'What would be the the coolest way to die?'
The experience is powered by the Sheepoll app - an interactive, real-time data collection platform. Purposely built to enable simultaneous interaction between the host’s controls, the players’ responses and the central display screen, Sheepoll can poll hundreds of players in an instant, allowing the pace of the show to never slow.
Despite being really clever, it also features a lot of quirky and cute elements to keep the flow fun and engaging. For example, players have a Baabaatar, an online sheep avatar, that represents them and changes appearance according to how questions are answered.
When it comes to hosting Sheepoll's Opinion Trivia, you can make the show as big or as small as you like. Any bartender with a personality could run it effectively, or you could make more of a show of it with a comedic host and a DJ sidekick. Wanna run it as a live-stream show or live radio show? Go nuts! Sheepoll gives you all the tech and know-how to make it work. It's a beautiful balance of improv, audience interaction and integrated technology. What you do with it is totally up to ewe!
WHAT THE HELL IS A BAABAATAR?
Your Baabaatar is your online sheep avatar. It represents you in the Sheepoll universe and reflects your personality and inner psyche. Some might say your 'inner ewe'.
When you first register with Sheepoll, you will be asked to choose a name and gender for your Baabaatar, and then asked a few questions that help your Baabaatar start it's Sheepoll journey. Remember to answer honestly to get a Baabaatar that reps you accurately.
The more you play Sheepoll, the more accurately your Baabaatar represents you. You'll notice the wool colour change from white to various shades of grey. The lighter the shade, the more of a white sheep you are, which means you mostly agree with the majority of the population. A darker wool colour means you are pretty unique and tend to think differently to the status quo. This will change over time, but the more you play, the closer it will get to truly representing your position of the 'sheep scale'.
Your Baabaatar will also change it's look from time to time with trigger questions. A trigger question has a response that will activate a physical element to your Baabaatar. Are you a vigilante at heart? You may end up with the Batman mask. All about peace and mung beans? Look out for some rose coloured peace-sign sunnies. There are hundreds of elements and new ones added every week. They come up randomly throughout your Sheepoll playing experience.
The Black Sheep and White Sheep winners of an Opinion Trivia show get branded with their own choice of Black Sheep and White Sheep tattoos. These temporary tattoos have become so popular that some people have requested the designs to get make that ink permanent.
If you want to get a Sheepoll tattoo for reals, let us know! We will happily help to fund that venture.

WHAT IS SHEEPOLL'SOPINION TRIVIA?
Sheepoll.Verb. The act of polling to determine the black sheep and white sheep of a given audience.
For example, Stacey announces, "We should totally sheepoll the office! I wonder who is, like, the most average person here. I bet it’s, like, Steve from accounting."
Here, Stacey thinks that Steve from accounting will be the white sheep. In fact, when sheepolled, we found Stacey to be the white sheep and Steve to be a dark grey. Stacey hates being average. Stacey also hates Steve.
Now... make the questions in that poll ridiculous. Add a comedic MC, a wise-cracking DJ, sheep cartoon jingles, online avatar sheep, sweet tunes, audience interaction and an all-in Mass Debate, and you have yourself: Sheepoll's Opinion Trivia. A 2-hour, comedy-fuelled, interactive game show for pubs and bars.
Opinion Trivia uses the Sheepoll app to sheepoll an audience (see above definition if confused). By comparing the responses of those answering our silly subjective questions, the show uncovers important stats like: 94% of people pee in the ocean; 64% think that Donald Trump would beat Ronald McDonald in a game of Monopoly, and; the best way to make friends whilst travelling overseas is "boobs".
Fun, social and interactive. The barriers of performer and audience are completely removed, creating a unique show where they both contribute to the content and the entertainment.
The experience is free, comical and insightful! It's awesome with a group, makes a perfect first date and even works if you want to play with yourself... or is that 'by' yourself... regardless you’ll no doubt enjoy the Mass Debate.
In the end we use the Sheepoll app to see how the majority has ruled and where you fit in. The ‘most average person in the room’ is hailed as the White Sheep, and likewise, we celebrate the wonderfully ‘unique freak’ – the Black Sheep. Both 'winners' get a venue vouchers (through the app) and some badass sheep tattoos to match their freshly unveiled identities. Players can also win prizes along the way by giving creative or hilarious responses.
Oh, and at the end of the night, everyone is matched with their Poll Mate and their Pollar Opposite! That is, the person you answered most similarly to and most different to. How cool is that!
Curious about where you sit in society? Are you an average white sheep like Stacey, a unique outlier black sheep, or somewhere in between like Steve? Find out at your local show and discover the real ewe.
